Net Asset Value (NAV)
09 may 2022
The total value of the mutual fund’s assets from which the total value of the fund's liabilities is deducted. When calculating the net asset value of the fund, the liabilities include management fees - this is why it is called net, this is the net value that investors have.
In addition to the total amount for the entire fund, the net asset value is published for one share (NAV/1 share), so that each investor can clearly determine the value of the amount invested by him at the moment. This is done by dividing the net asset value by the total number of the shares in the fund.
Example:
KBC Sample Fund has total assets under management worth BGN 2,000,000. The liabilities of the fund as of this date, including management fees to the management company, amount to BGN 5,000. The net asset value is:
BGN 2,000,000 – BGN 5,000 = BGN 1,995,000.
If we assume that this fund has a total of 200,000 shares, then the net asset value per share (NAV/1 share) is BGN 1,995,000 / BGN 200,000 = BGN 9,975
