The economic news this week was voted by Parliament decision to suspend implementation of the Belene project. With this decision, National Assembly entrusted the government to investigate conditions for the establishment of steam-gas station at the Belene site prepared for construction of nuclear power plant. The government needs to do what is necessary to build new nuclear power plant at Kozloduy NPP using the already built reactors for Belene NPP, which is soon to be fully paid.
In March 2012 the country's economic situation improves slightly. The total business climate indicator rose by 2.3 points compared to its level in February due to a favorable business climate in retail trade and services sector. The composite indicator "business climate in retail trade" in March increased by 2.4 percentage points compared with the previous month and the composite indicator "business climate in services" rose by 9.2 points....more »
